Terms and Conditions:

1. Only customers opening a 1 to 3 months’ fixed deposit account with new funds (For the definition of new funds, please refer to Point 2), in Hong Kong Dollars or any designated foreign currency (including New Zealand Dollars, Australian Dollars, US Dollars, Euros, Sterling Pounds and Canadian Dollars), with a minimum amount equivalent to HK$100,000 (maximum deposit amount is HK$10,000,000) during the period between 8 January, 2009 and 10 February, 2009 (the “Promotional Period”) are eligible to participate in the lucky draw. For details, please contact MEVAS Bank staff or call our Application Hotline.
   
2. The new funds are defined as funds in Hong Kong Dollars or a designated foreign currency (including New Zealand Dollars, Australian Dollars, US Dollars, Euros, Sterling Pounds and Canadian Dollars) newly deposited at MEVAS Bank by cash, using a cheque drawn on another bank, inward CHATS or T/T during the Promotion Period. For clarification of the definition of new funds, please contact MEVAS Bank staff. In case of any disputes in relation to the definition of new funds, the decision of MEVAS Bank shall be final.
   
3. In the case of a joint account, only one of the joint account holders is entitled to a lucky draw chance.
   
4. This promotional offer cannot be used in conjunction with other fixed deposit offers.
   
5. Staff at our branches will present the customer a lucky draw card after the fixed deposit account is opened. Details of the prizes, redemption method and terms are stated on the lucky draw cards. Customers must present the lucky draw card at the designated redemption centre within the designated redemption period for prize redemption. MEVAS Bank will not re-issue any lucky draw ticket in case of loss.
   
6. Lucky draw offers are not applicable to any fixed deposit renewal. The interest rate of a fixed deposit upon renewal is to be determined according to MEVAS Bank’s designated fixed deposit interest rate at the time of renewal. The board rate of fixed deposit interest fluctuates daily. Please ask staff at branches for the latest board rate.
   
7. In the event of early redemption of a fixed deposit pertaining to the promotion, respective handling fees and interest will be applied. MEVAS Bank reserves the right to deduct or debit the amount equivalent to the value of gifts or cash rebates given to customers from the account without prior notice.
   
8. MEVAS Bank is not the supplier of the gifts. Customers who wish to inquire or complain about the quality of products or services should contact the suppliers concerned directly. MEVAS Bank shall assume no liability. Gifts are in limited supply and are available while stock lasts. Gifts cannot be exchanged for cash or other gifts. MEVAS Bank reserves the right to replace the gifts with other gifts without prior notice in the event that the gifts are not available.
   
9. Reference prices of gifts are not determined by MEVAS Bank and are for customers’ reference purposes only. MEVAS Bank assumes no liability for the difference between the reference prices of gifts and their actual selling prices in the market.
   
10. MEVAS Bank reserves the right to amend the above terms and conditions of offers and terminate any of the above offers at anytime without prior notice. In the event of a dispute, the decision of MEVAS Bank shall be final.
    
11. Should there be any discrepancy between the English version and Chinese version of these terms and conditions, the English version shall prevail.
